According to the Korean company, the SUV has set a world's record for the length of the drive among this type of cars. That's impressive, Hyundai!
The trip started in Oslo, Norway, then the car drove through the Swedish cities of Malmö and Gothenburg, the destination point being the Danish Copenhagen. All the way took it 10 hours at an average speed of 76 kilometers per hour. After the finish the fuel tank still had hydrogen left for ten kilometers to go! The structure of the power plant Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell includes a 136-horsepower electric motor and a set of lithium-ion battery with the capacity of 24 kilowatt-hours. The energy for these is produced by a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, and the only exhaust you get is water. So, no more polluting the air and the savings are incredible!
European sales of the hydrogen crossover Hyundai started in June 2013 and by 2015 the car-maker expect it to be a hit of the mass-production on the market.
